Invitation to Worship
L: We have chosen to be here, forming one body out of many.
P: We are one in the Spirit; we are one in Christ.
L: With us are those we see and those who share our vision but are scattered across creation.
P: We are one in the Spirit; we are one in Christ.
L: We share a vision of students of differing experiences, men and women, rich and poor, of many races, creeds and cultures being one with us in this moment.
P: We are one in the Spirit; we are one in Christ.
Prayer of Invocation
Hymn: They’ll Know We are Christians By Our Love (insert)
Time for Adults
Litany of Confession (responsive)
L:O Jesus, you were real and we made you sugary and hung you on the church school wall and told all the little children you wanted them to sit still.
P: O Jesus you were here and now and we made you something in the sweet by and by and told all the people in need to see you in heaven.
L: O Jesus, you walked in our shoes in our marketplace and we told you to stay in your sandals, in a faraway place, in a long ago time, to stay back in the Bible.
P: O Jesus we made you a baby that didn’t cry, we made you a boy with good manners, we made you a man, sweet and gentle.
L: We tossed you pennies then told you how to spend them. We built you temples, then told you who could enter them.
P: We made you wood and plastic and concrete and locked you in the church. We made you a goody-goody god and stood before the world with joyless faces and pointing fingers and tsk-tsk-tsk cold voices, declaring thou-shalt-nots.
L: O Lord! We paid no attention to Who You Are: the Lord of Life!
P: This morning we would come as children --- humble, innocent, spontaneous, and trusting. We come, your children, ready to hear the possibility of your Word. Amen.

Pastoral Prayer
Silent Prayer
Lord’s Prayer: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever Amen.

Prayer of Dedication of Gifts and Self
God of all good, our gifts we give to you. We pray that they may multiply and be blessed, as the fish and the loaves were. May they be tokens of our love to you. Our offering may be small but it is full of love. Amen. (Written by youth from
